Urgent Contact Details
Private Patients
Private patients should attempt contacting one of Mr Moore’s private secretaries in the first instance (Telephone direct to Private Secretary 01273 929 897). In most cases Mr Moore’s experienced private secretary will be able to organise a satisfactory response to any urgent enquiry by Mr Moore or one of his trusted consultant surgical colleagues.
If Mr Moore’s private secretary is out of the office and the matter cannot wait until the next working day then patients can contact their treatment hospital ( Nuffield Hospital Brighton Tel. 01273 624 488, Spire Montefiore Hospital Hove Tel. 01273 828 120). If you have recently been discharged from Mr Moore’s care in hospital then you should ask to be put through to the nursing sister in charge on the ward. A nursing sister on the ward is available 24 hours a day and they can give advice themselves or involve the ward doctor or they can contact Mr Moore if necessary.
If the above directions do not resolve the situation then a patient should contact their GP surgery for medical advice from their GP. If it is out-of-hours their GP surgery should have a 24 hour emergency helpline accessible via the usual GP surgery telephone number.
If a patient does not have a GP or they are unable to contact their GP surgery then they should contact NHS 111 or their local Accident and Emergency Department.
If all else fails and a patient is worried that they have an emergency medical problem then they should dial 999 or 112 for emergency ambulance transport to the nearest Accident and Emergency Department.

NHS patients are also able to contact Mr Moore’s NHS secretaries (01273 696 955 Ext. 64077) but please note that these secretaries are not medically qualified and urgent medical queries are better directed to a patient’s GP or local community doctor. This telephone number should be used for both the Royal Sussex County Hospital Brighton patients and the Princess Royal Hospital Haywards Heath patients.
Most patient’s urgent medical queries can be dealt with in the community at the GP surgery or at the patient’s home. Rarely, a patient may require emergency admission to hospital which the GP or community doctor will arrange if they feel it is necessary.

Non-Medical Urgent Queries
Please contact either Mr Moore’s private secretary or one of his NHS secretaries . They will then be able to deal with the query themselves or take down the enquirer’s details and get back to them with a response once they have investigated the matter further.
